Why I love my Jord Watch! (plus a giveaway!)

I don’t know about you, but I am a sucker for unique things. When I came across Jord Watches I was instantly in love, and then I got the opportunity to collaborate with them. Jord sent me a free watch for my honest and unbiased review. So here it is.

  1. Beauty. These watches are incredibly crafted out of real wood (more on that next). They have a look to fit any style and personality.
  2. You saw where I said real wood. How cool is that? Jord makes their watches out of woods like Maple (thats what mine is) Olive, Bamboo, Sandalwood and Koa, just to list a few. As a lover of nature and things that are sustainably harvested, this is what hooked me.
  3. Packaging. My watch arrived well wrapped and was placed beautifully in a wooden box complete with cleaning tools and a little secret drawer to put other jewelry in. It would be easy to send a watch in a basic box, but they go the extra mile and make it unique and gorgeous.

4. Price point. As a woman I am a lover of all things too expensive for me. This is NOT the case for these watches. They start at $139 but can go well up to around $500 if your are feeling frisky. They now also offer bands for your Apple Watch.

5. Durability. I was nervous about messing up my watch right off the bat. But as I have worn it I have noticed its not as easy to mess up as I imagined. The glass is scratch proof and the wood holds up to some moisture. While I wouldn’t encourage wearing it while swimming or anything crazy, I’ve been caught in the rain in mine and forgotten to take it off while rinsing dishes and its been fine!

6. They really have something for everyone. Jord offers styles for men and women and many I would consider unisex. They are a great gift for that special someone in your life, whether its a significant other, or parent (Valentines day is this week friends)! My mom has already ordered herself one after seeing mine! Plus, they will even engrave it with a sweet note on the back if you’d like. Talk about customer service.

Well there you have it friends. All in all I would highly recommend one of this unique timepieces for anyone. My husband may be getting one soon, but shhh, don’t tell him!

Holiday Home Tour

To say I love Christmas would be an understatement. One of my favorite things about this time of year is how cozy my home feels. This is our first holiday season in the new house and I wanted to make sure it felt comfortable and also looked beautiful since I knew we would be hosting several parties or get togethers here.

Here are some of my favorite shots of our home this year. ( half of these are iPhone pics and the others were taken by my friend and wedding photographer Aliya.)

Theres a little local greenhouse we often get flowers from and they had the best selection of live greenery. These little trees were only $16 each and the wreaths were $14. I loved them so much I put them on every window in the front of the house.

We just got brand new furniture from Bassett Furniture and I am obsessed with it and how it fit so perfectly for the season. We aren’t crazy for getting white because its their REVOLUTION fabric which you can clean with bleach and water. You read that right, BLEACH!!

Cannon helps make everything cuter, don’t ya think?!

This is Miss Trilly. She is our Christmas present to each other! She is a Great Pyrenees and is going to be an excellent farm dog and livestock guardian!

I love changing my decor regularly and to do that, I have to be creative on ways to make changes with out spending tons of money on new things.  These cute plates are from the Dollar General, and the red chargers came from Dollar Tree. I used my same white cloth napkins I always do but tied them up with burlap string and added a cinnamon stick and faux cranberry twigs that I got for 50% off at Michaels. I only bought one big bunch and used the rest to add to my wrapped presents.

My Thanksgiving and early December table setting consisted of old Hymnals  on top of my chargers with a plate, napkin, pinecone and live greenery. Didn’t spend a dime on that arrangement! Unfortunately Maple thinks the table is her playground and knocked off the greenery and cones regularly.  Oh well!

I didn’t go too crazy in the rest of the house but I figured our room needed a few holiday touches.

Well, there you have it. Thanks for stopping by and checking our home.  I hope you all have a blessed and happy holiday season.

With Love,
